Caitlin Kuhwald gravitated to graphics at an early age and admits to joining Brownies solely for the craft supplies. Having collected a BFA from California College of the Arts and an MFA from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, she looped back to San Francisco to teach illustration at CCA.
Caitlin adores acrylic. Its fast-drying tendencies allow her to pinpoint every detail. Crisp renderings and flea-market motifs broadcast in flat, juicy color. Her illustrations dawn in the sun-speckled studio at the back of her home in Berkeley, with NPR as the score to her brushstrokes.
