This illustration of the band Sonic Youth was commissioned by Paste Magazine.
My AD José Reyes wanted something dynamic, with a patriotic color scheme (since it’s in the International issue), and that played on the name of the band. I was only too happy to oblige.

This post seems pretty appropriate after the 4th of July. My town smelled like barbecue, fireworks and sun tan lotion for a week straight.
